SYPNOSIS:

  • This unit covers the major theoretical applications, the mystery of the human personality and the efforts of psychologists to unravel it.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To explain the nature of theory and its importance to science.
  • To examine various theories of personality.
  • To evaluate these personality theories.
  • To apply such theories to real life situations.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of this course, students should be able to :

  • List and discuss the essential aspects of an effective theory.
  • Identify and define key terms and concepts of the various personality theories covered in the course.
  • Critique each theory according to specific criteria
  • Use case studies to illustrate each theory’s relevance to practice.

  • This unit introduces the impact of genetic and environmental factors on child development.
  • It covers the growing body of knowledge about how children learn language and continually sharpen their cognitive skills, and the way children develop skills through interaction with peers

  • To develop an understanding of the dynamic nature of child psychology
  • To explore the effects of family arrangements on children’s development
  • To identify and evaluate the genetic and environmental factors in children’s learning

    1. Conduct mini research base on understanding of the dynamic nature of child psychology
    2. Differentiate the effects of family arrangements on children’s development
